Nikita was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child and now uses his profile to help raise awareness of managing the condition – calling it his “superpower”.
He said on Morning Live: “Recently, I’ve been trying to be really, really honest about diabetes and actually, if I am being honest right now my sugar is actually going quite low, and that’s why I am shaking.”
He held up his hands to show them trembling before the professional dancer admitted: “It is just the reality of diabetes.” Presenter Gethin Jones stepped in to ask if the dancer was OK, to which he replied: “I just need to make the best of it.”
Now, Nikita has shared a clip of the moment on Instagram and told his followers: “I’m still alive xx lol just a bit of diabetes reality check on live TV. Always gotta do the best with what you can do.”
