Katie Price has sparked a heated online debate after discussing her ex-husband Peter Andre and his wife of ten years, Emily MacDonagh.

An insider told the Mirror that Peter is less than pleased with her remarks. The 47-year-old former model opened up about her thoughts on 52-year-old Peter and his “proper lady” wife Emily, 35, leading to a barrage of claims that she’s “jealous” and demands for her to “leave them alone”.

Reflecting on their past marriage, Katie shared that their two children, Junuior and Princess, struggle to understand that she and Peter were once an item because she and Emily are “just so different”.

“I said to [Princess], ‘I was with your dad for six years – trust me, we had a laugh, banter together. We did,” Katie confided in comedian Katherine Ryan on her podcast, reports the Mirror.

She added: “[Princess] can’t believe that whenever he went everywhere or me, we were together with the kids – we’d go as a family. She’s like, ‘Emily doesn’t do all that,’ for Pete.”

Her comments regarding Emily have prompted a slew of social media responses, accusing her of being green-eyed over Peter’s contented new life, with one listener remarking, “Price is just jealous because Pete and Emily are happy and love their family. She has never let it go and moved on.”

Another advised her to “get a grip and leave them alone”, yet, some showed empathy, with a comment reading, “The one who got away. Quite possibly the love of her life.”

In the wake of some recent controversy, an insider revealed that Pete is less than pleased to be dredged back into what he views as bygone days, keen on putting it all to rest. “Peter moved on a long time ago and is fed up of her talking about him because it was such a long time ago that they split,” the source disclosed.

“It has a knock-on effect on his family, especially Emily. He knew their marriage was over when they split up 16 years ago and he just wants her to leave it in the past too. He’s very happy with his life.”

Katie, who is currently in a relationship with Married At First Sight UK series eight’s JJ Slater, has been speaking publicly about her previous marriage to Peter, including claims that their divorce “wasn’t mutual at all” due to his suspicions of infidelity.

Katie, also a mother to Harvey, 23, Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10, expressed last month how the strain became unbearable for their relationship.

Psychologist Dr Lalitaa Suglani understands why Katie, having spent much of her life in the spotlight, would use interviews as an outlet for her feelings. However, Dr Lalitaa warns this approach might be counterproductive.

“Continually revisiting unresolved issues in public can sometimes reopen emotional wounds rather than help them heal,” she told the Mirror. Dr Lalitaa reiterated that revisiting the past in such a way prevents gaining emotional distance from it.

Regarding closure post-breakup, Dr Lalitaa noted that while seeking closure is natural, for Katie, obtaining a “satisfying, tied-up ending with Peter” seems unlikely. “So the focus has to shift from external resolution to internal acceptance,” advised Dr Lalitaa.

She stressed the importance of personal processing and moving on irrespective of the ex-partner’s involvement. “That means acknowledging what happened, processing the emotions that still linger and then deciding to move forward, regardless of whether the other person participates in that process. Closure is about you, not them. It’s about reclaiming power over your story and choosing not to let the past dictate your present.”
