Kate Garraway has revealed her exciting new venture beyond her role on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. The 57-year-old joined her co-presenters Ed Balls and Susanna Reid on Thursday’s breakfast programme to discuss the latest UK news headlines.
Entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold was also present, updating viewers on showbiz news, including the announcement that Kate will be joining the celebrity line-up for The Great Celebrity Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer. The charity series is set to make its comeback on Channel 4 on March 16, featuring personalities such as Roman Kemp, Jamali Maddix, and Maxine Peake.
When quizzed by Ed about her performance on the baking show, he humorously inquired: “Did did you have a soggy bottom?” Kate quipped back: “I always have a soggy bottom Ed as you well know!” Ed clarified with a laugh: “I mean in cookery terms!”
Kate expressed her enjoyment of the experience but remained tight-lipped about the details, saying: “A lot of surfaces got covered but brilliant. I can’t give anything away though.”
The baking competition, which challenges celebrities to impress with their baking prowess, is returning this spring on Channel 4 with a fresh cast and a new judge. Each episode will see four celebrities battle it out through the signature, technical, and showstopper challenges, with one being crowned Star Baker at the end of the episode.

Caroline Waldegrave, former co-owner and managing director of Leiths School of Food and Wine, joins Paul Hollywood as a judge on the celebrity version of the beloved baking competition in support of Stand Up To Cancer. Caroline, being a long-time friend of original judge Prue Leith, will step in to take part in the judging duties alongside Paul, reports Manchester Evening News.
The change comes as Prue decided to take a break from her judging role for this particular series, an announcement made early last year. Despite rumours hinting at a permanent departure, Prue quickly dispelled such suggestions during an interview on This Morning.

She continued, explaining her decision by adding: “These things are filmed back-to-back all the way through summer from April to August so you don’t get any time off. I’m getting quite old and there’s places I want to see. So I’m not doing this year’s.”
