Fans of ITV’s The Chase were excited to tune into the quiz show until they noticed a change which made them switch straight back off again.

Fans of The Chase have been treated to a run of new episodes recently, but as they tuned in this week they were met with an unwelcome change. It seems that the latest series had now come to an end, with older episodes being re-aired instead.

Without fresh content from host Bradley Walsh and his team of six Chasers – Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan and Darragh Ennis – fans have been left feeling disappointed, with some saying that they will not be watching until the next instalment of new episodes air, presumably in September.

On March 20, when the series took a break from new episodes, one disgruntled fan asked other viewers on X/Twitter if they would still be watching. Sharing a poll, with yes or no as options, the fan asked: “Today is the last episode of The Chase before it goes on a break. Will you be watching the repeats? #TheChase.”

A whopping 80 percent of respondents answered yes, indicating that they would be switching off from the popular ITV quiz show. Comments echoed the poll results, with one fan Tweeting: “Why is tomorrow’s episode a repeat anyways? Repeats till September now probably anyways #thechase”

One more fumed: “#thechase Maybe they’re playing repeats because they finally got the message how bad the latest series was!”

However, not everyone was upset with the re-runs. One fan commented: “The great thing about these being repeats is that I can check the contestant names in the Radio Times, then search @OneQnShootout for those names to find out when to avoid the Dreaded Beasting! #TheChase.”
