BBC Morning Live presenter Helen Skelton recently melted hearts with a touching tribute to her co-star Gethin Jones – and fans can’t stop talking about it.

In a sweet social media post, Helen, 41, reflected on her incredible journey alongside Gethin, 47, as they helped raise a staggering £34 million for Comic Relief during its 40th anniversary last month (March 21). The duo took part in the Wheely Big Challenge, roller-skating non-stop for 24 hours – a feat that tested their limits and brought them even closer as friends.
After successfully completing the marathon challenge – which even saw Gethin suffer a nasty accident – Helen shared heartfelt clips on Instagram of their journey together. But it was her deeply personal caption that truly moved fans.

“Still not over it. Sorry… Humbled by your generosity and so impressed the @bbcmorninglive team pulled this off,” Helen wrote. “Raised over a million for some charities that lift all of our communities. Celebrated some unbelievably selfless people and their work. Broadcast live for around 26 hours. Shone a light on volunteers who deserve the credit. True privilege to be part of.”
Helen then turned the spotlight on her “dear” skating partner, calling Gethin a “legend” and praising his spirit and dedication. “You’re a legend and I am beyond grateful to have you by my side,” she said. “I don’t publicly say often enough how much love and respect I have for you, my friend, because I assume it is well known – but for the record, you’re a legend and I am beyond grateful to have you by my side on the rink, the sofa, and beyond. I can gush – he doesn’t read beyond one paragraph on an insta post.”
Fans were quick to react to the emotional post, flooding the comments with admiration for the duo and their incredible achievement.
“Both of you are legends. Such great sports that love a great challenge,” one user gushed.

“Well done both, an incredible achievement. Worked with Geth on his first presenting job on S4C many moons ago. Super proud,” another shared.
“What absolute legends you both are! An incredible amount of money raised!” a third exclaimed.
“You both moved me to tears. You each brought something unique to the challenge and the causes that matter to you. Epic. Thank you both,” wrote a fourth.
“Congratulations Helen, you both did yourselves proud,” another added.
It’s clear that Helen and Gethin’s friendship – and their commitment to making a difference – has left a lasting impression on everyone who followed their journey.
