Speaking about her diagnosis in 2018, Tessa said that the disease stripped her of certainties.
‘Going through something like (cancer) strips you of who you are, not only physically but mentally,’ she told Women’s Health Magazine.
Tessa added her cancer battle had brought her family closer together.
‘We were always a close family But it brought us closer in some ways, because they’ve seen you in places and doing things that no one else has,’ she said.
In the same month as her 2014 diagnosis, Tessa told the Herald Sun she credited her husband, who is married in 2011, for his unwavering support.
‘I have a lot of help and I have a wonderful husband. I am really healthy and I credit a lot of that to how good I feel. I think that happiness, it says a lot.’
