Clarkson’s Farm viewers think they spotted an ‘editing error’ in episode eight of the new season

Eagle-eyed Clarkson’s Farm fans reckon they’ve spotted a little ‘editing error’ during the last episode of the new season.

There’s been quite a bit to unpack in season four of the Prime Video show, as Clarkson spends much of his time renovating his country pub.

Meanwhile, the 65-year-old was temporarily without Kaleb Cooper while Harriet Cowan, a young farmer from Derbyshire, assisted him on the farm in his stead.

Not only that but there was also the grand opening of Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, which didn’t go without a hitch – in fact, there were quite a few hitches, which led to a few staff members quitting after just one day.

But during a particular moment in the last episode, Clarkson discusses the struggles of farm life while a ‘glitch’ briefly appears on-screen.

As the former Top Gear host says: “You keep going because you believe next year couldn’t possibly be any worse,” an image of Rachel Reeves appears on screen.

Fans, most likely from abroad, were not aware of who the Chancellor was, as one viewer said on Reddit: “While watching Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime Video, a still image of a woman flashed on screen for a split second. Likely an editing mistake. Anyone else notice this?”

“I’m Canadian so I’m unfamiliar if this is some kind of political Statement or something, but I found it weird, can anyone give context?” they added.

Another wondered if it ‘was symbolic of anything or an editing mistake?’.

Well, Clarkson had previously accused Reeves of ‘making farming nigh on impossible’ after the announcement of her new inheritance tax rule, which will come into force on 6 April 2026.

Previously, those with farmland benefited from Agricultural Property Relief, which was essentially zero inheritance tax on their land when passing it down to future generations.

Whilst farms worth up to £1 million will still benefit from inheritance tax relief, those worth more will have to pay an inheritance tax rate of 20 per cent.

“The 100 percent rate of relief will continue for the first £1 million of combined agricultural and business property to help protect family farms and businesses, and it will be 50 percent thereafter.” the government said.

With his farm worth a reported £13.5 million, Clarkson could be paying £2.5 million worth of inheritance tax.

“Rachel Reeves. I literally daren’t comment,” he said on X after the budget was announced.

Well, fans of the show will be glad to know that it seems we’ll still be getting season five of Clarkson’s Farm, as Deadline has reported that filming has already begun.

“I’d do a sixth if there was a reason for doing it, like a b***** good story… Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out,” he told The Times.

“We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.”
