Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway has admitted that she finds it ‘challenging’ to raise her son Billy, 15,
Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway has opened up about the challenges of motherhood, particularly in raising her young son amid influences like the controversial Andrew Tate.
Speaking on the popular ITV breakfast programme alongside co-host Adil Ray and guests Freddie Feltham and Dr Sophie King-Hill, Kate revealed her concerns about Tate’s potential impact on young boys, including her 15 year old son, Billy.
During the Friday (February 28) show, the conversation turned to the recent news of Tate and his brother Tristan returning to the US from Romania.
Seizing the moment, Kate, 57, shared her personal apprehension as a parent, stating: “As a mother of a son I feel very much that it is challenging on how to raise that son because they will say things.
“I would like to believe and I hope I can be confident that he is not a follower of Andrew Tate – I’m pretty sure he isn’t.”

She went further detailing the complications of modern childhood, adding: “But comments are made genuinely on social media, on the playground and TikTok that they will repeat and are attacked for and then you find that they’re just trying to feel their way as well.”
The poignant discussion follows Garraway’s disclosure of her late husband Derek Draper’s last wishes for her and their children. Draper had sadly passed away the previous January at age 56 after enduring severe Covid complications that dramatically changed their lives.

Where we don’t look back and remember: ‘This time last year we were doing this or that with Dad…’ but focus on the future,” she shared with Hello!, reports the Manchester Evening News
“Derek would want me to be grabbing life, because you learn how fast, and how easily, it can be snatched away. I know he’d be saying: ‘You’ve got to get out and live, because I can’t.’”
