Country music superstar Daniel O’Donnell left a Co. Down family stunned on April Fool’s Day when he walked into their home completely unexpectedly.
Daniel paid a visit to one of his biggest fans, social media influencer Mary-Ellen O’Hare.
Mary-Ellen is known for her monthly Daniel O’Donnell calendar reveals on TikTok, where she turns the page on her fan calendar on the first of each month to reveal what photo of Daniel she’s going to be treated with.
Her whole family, who are from Banbridge, are also big fans and they sometimes appear in her videos too.
But Mary-Ellen got the shock of her life when the real deal walked into her kitchen during April’s calendar reveal.
The Down native posted her reaction on TikTok, where she can be seen excitedly flipping the page to reveal the April photo of Daniel, and suddenly, Daniel walks into the room, much to her delight.
Her entire family seemed delighted and stunned that such a big star was in their presence, while Daniel posed for photos with all the family.
Behind the scenes shots show the country music legend sneaking up to the house.
Daniel reposted the video on his Facebook account, captioning it: “Happy to make an appearance for the April reveal.”
Mary-Ellen replied: “I think this may be the peak moment of my life… thanks for calling.” She also posted some behind the scenes videos and photos, captioning a cute selfie of her and Daniel: “Winning at life so I am.”
Fans on Daniel’s Facebook page noted that he often goes out of his way to make fans happy.
“He visited my auntie and uncle after my uncle suffered a stroke and cancer at the same time. They were huge fans of his,” said one fan.
“Aw Daniel so full off surprises. Your well loved and supported and rightly so,” added another commenter.
“Oh man…… all my dreams come true!!” said another fan.
ForeFront Sports arranged the special meeting to highlight the OFX Irish Legends golf tournament.
Daniel is set to participate in the tournament which takes place from May 15 to 17 at Mount Juliet Estate in Kilkenny, and now the O’Hare family are also invited to attend. Robbie Fowler, Niall Quinn, Liam Brady and Keith Duffy will also take to the green as part of the competition.
Daniel joked that he’d be “digging up the course” at the tournament and he also presented the O’Hare’s with a signed OFX Irish Legends flag.
