TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has shared an update on his health this week as he asked fans for their support.

Eamonn, 65, has spoken about experiencing health issues over the years, including slipped discs. He’s been seen using a wheelchair at times following surgery on his back in 2022 and has documented his efforts to improve his mobility.

The GB News host shared an update with fans this morning, revealing that he is still living in “pain” and sometimes fears that he will “never beat” his “disc immobility”. He went on to suggest that getting changed is now a “huge task” for him.

Alongside a photo of himself, Eamonn wrote in a message for his followers on Instagram today: “Even when the sun shines there’s pain. Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life ….. so pray for me, help me or get out of the way social media haters.”

The post prompted his fans to express well wishes in the comments section. One follower reacted: “Hope you feel better soon Eamonn.” Another said: “Oh Eamonn sending so much love and well wishes.” A third wrote: “You can do this!”

Someone else commented: “Keep going Eamonn … you’ll get there.” One fan said: “Sending you a massive love hug and hoping that things improve for you very soon you treasure of a man.” Another person wrote: “Praying for you Eamonn.”

Others referenced their own experiences. One fan wrote to him: “I’m in terrible pain with my back as well [Eamonn]. Hope you feel better soon … no one understands the pain unless they have experienced it … take care god bless.”

Eamonn also shared further insights in replies to fans, with him responding to someone who recommended swimming: “But changing clothes is a huge task.” Asked how the back pain initially began, he replied to another person on the platform: “Slipped discs. Then operation that didn’t work.”

It’s the latest health update from the former This Morning presenter, who revealed last summer that he had started using an anti-gravity treadmill to improve his mobility. He later described one session as having been “tough”.

Discussing the activity at the time, he shared that it could help his body remember what it was like to move before “things went wrong”. He said in a video in July last year: “[A] balloon holds my weight. What it does really, the machine, if I now walk or run in this, [is] it helps my legs and my body remember what it was like to move like this before things went wrong, that have been wrong for a long time.”
