Former Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley gave a rare parenting update on her social media over the weekend, sharing a snap of her daughter Minnie. Shared with partner Kevin Clifton, the tot’s childhood is largely kept out of the spotlight despite her famous mum and dad.

The documentary maker and her Strictly Come Dancing co-star, who met on the BBC dancefloor in 2018, don’t share images of their little one’s face – but do like to keep their followers in the loop with what’s happening in their lives.

Saturday was no exception as Stacey uploaded a sweet image of Minnie appearing to sit in the couple’s lavish living room, enjoying some quiet time on the sofa. Showing off the 22-month-old’s outfit, she penned a cheeky caption in reference to how quickly her daughter is growing up.

“Minnie’s now 18 and off to [university],” Stacey joked as she shared the picture of her daughter appearing to wear a spooky costume for Halloween. Minnie looked to be wearing a skull and cross bones hat, as well as matching shoes and a black skirt.

It comes after Stacey opened up about her busy relationship with Kevin as well as becoming parents. “Evenings are normally alone or with my mum. Kev is on tour in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, and I’m in London,” she told the Guardian.

“We grab Zooms and send each other videos, but it’s hard.” Stacey also spoke about her Sunday rituals, which often involve spending time with family, including her mum. “We always have a full English,” she shared

“On a Sunday, always a full English. Hash browns are my favourite. And maybe a croissant, too. I eat garbage on Sundays – as if I’m a 20-year-old student with no health problems and I’m not doing any exercise. I need to get on top of it.”

“I don’t booze and haven’t drunk for a long time. But if I’m feeling like I deserve a treat my tipple is a Shirley Temple mocktail,” she added, giving more information about her private life in the rare and personal interview.

The pair met on Strictly Come Dancing and have always been open about their relationship, sharing both the highs and the lows with their fans. The pair share one-year-old daughter, Minnie.

However, Stacey didn’t get together with her beau until the year after the show, as she had been in a long-term relationship prior to that. The pair moved in together over lockdown, and three years after they first started dating, their pregnancy was announced.

Stacey enthused that she felt lucky to be giving birth at 35, pointing out that, due to her age: “You never take it for granted.” Stacey had previously kept her pregnancy secret for months, before taking to Instagram for the big announcement. “Was becoming impossible to hide and if one more person asks me if I’ve had my t*ts done in LA, I’m gonna scream!”
