TV favourite Angellica Bell was visibly moved to tears as she recounted her exit from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023. During Tuesday’s episode, the Celebrity Big Brother contestant became tearful in the Diary Room while reflecting on her tumultuous time on the show, which culminated in her eviction by public vote. Prompted by Big Brother’s playful question about her morning antics with pots and pans, she joyfully admitted that it felt “so good” to rile up housemate Donna Preston. However, the mood shifted as she opened up: “I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t think I’d get this far. I’m still pinching myself that I’m here.”
In a comforting reply, Big Brother said: “Big Brother thinks you’re a great housemate,” prompting an emotional response from Bell, who confessed she struggles with accepting praise. She expressed her appreciation for the experience: “I’ve loved every minute, it’s probably the best thing I’ve done in a long time. Before I came in here, I was a little bit scared. The press were asking me if I would talk about the Martin Lewis show and stuff, it took me a long time to get over that.”

Gratitude poured out as she acknowledged the support from fans and fellow stars: “I was so grateful to all of the audience who messaged me about it, also to other celebrities who contacted me and stuff because those messages are what got me through,” reports the Mirror.
Revealing her motivation for joining the reality show, she said: “That’s why I wanted to come onto this show and tap into my old self because it’s taken me a long time.”
As she wiped away tears, Big Brother offered words of encouragement: “Angelica, Big Brother thinks you’re doing really well.”
When asked about her exit, she said: “You know what, I think I found myself again being here.”

Angellica Bell co-hosted The Martin Lewis Money Show (Image: ITV)Angellica, a popular television personality with a 25-year career in children’s and daytime TV, was unexpectedly let go from her role on The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023, after six years of co-presenting. She was replaced by Jeanette Kwakye, a former Olympian and broadcaster.
Angellica had joined the award-winning show in 2017 and had also hosted Channel 5’s Shop Smart, Save Money, previously known as The Gadget Show. There were rumours of a “conflict of interest” surrounding her sudden departure.
Martin Lewis, the show’s host, has remained silent about Angellica’s exit, not commenting on the circumstances surrounding her departure. However, ITV released a statement at the time, saying that they had parted ways amicably and hoped to work with her again in the future.
An ITV spokesperson stated: “Angellica is not working on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes.”
