Rylan Clark’s excitement spilled over as he was met with an outpouring of support from fans, following his revelation of a “secret” he had been holding onto for a year. In a stellar career move, the TV star has been cast for an appearance in the iconic British sci-fi series Doctor Who, adding musical flare to the long-running show.
Rylan has landed a major role playing the host of the Interstellar Song Contest, a cosmic twist on the much-loved Eurovision Song Contest, within the BBC series. Details of his character emerged as part of the teaser for Doctor Who’s forthcoming series, dropping in April, which was unveiled last Sunday (March 2). The BBC released a statement wherein Rylan expressed his excitement: “As a massive Whovian, getting the call to be in Doctor Who was a call I’ve always dreamed of getting.”

He further enthused about the episode, saying it combines all the elements he loves about Doctor Who, complete with a song contest set amongst the stars.
“The episode is all my favourite things about the show with an added song contest set in space. It really is a dream come true. I can’t wait for everyone to see it. It really is going to be out of this world.”
The revelation also hit social media, where Rylan posted the series trailer on X, formerly Twitter, remarking: “Genuinely never thought in my wildest dreams I’d be able to say I was part of the Whoniverse. A full on dream come true. Hope you enjoy.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Accompanying a video toast to his Instagram Story from his Essex home, he confessed: “So I have been keeping that secret for a year,” hinting at his pent-up excitement. “I am so excited.
“I am a massive, massive Whovian. I love Doctor Who. I’ve loved it for years. And when I got that call I was so overwhelmed and I’m not gonna lie, I did have a little tear. Maybe a few more tears. It was the best experience of my life.”
