Mark Wright was overcome with emotion as he opened up about becoming a new dad as he described it as the ‘biggest achievement’ of his life.
The former TOWIE star and wife Michelle Keegan, both 37, shared the arrival of baby daughter Palma on Wednesday with a sweet snap of the tot.
And chatting with his best friend and fellow dad Olly Murs on his Heart Breakfast show on Saturday Mark gushed over becoming a father as he recalled the moment he first held his newborn daughter in his arms.
As Olly asked Mark how he was feeling, the star fought back emotions as he said: ‘Mate, it’s actually hard to put into words.
‘It’s the biggest achievement of my life its all I think about but obviously hats go off to my wife she is an absolute super human, a superhero for bringing this baby into the world.’
Sharing his appreciation for Michelle he added: ‘It makes you realise what our mums did for us and makes me have so much more respect than I already had and what women had to go through.

‘It’s the best feeling in the world. I wake up every morning just so excited to see her face.’
Recalling the first moment he held her he continued: ‘That moment when I held her in my arms, it gets me emotional now thinking about it.
‘I suppose everything else goes out the window and its made me realise what life is all about and my little baby Palma I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
‘It’s a very special feeling. I cant really put it into words. We’ve waited a little bit of time, we’ve chased our dreams and our careers and now we’re here. We’ve got a baby.’
Returning to work just days after her birth he revealed he would be facetiming his family in the song breaks as he added: ‘I am in the studio now I miss her badly now but in a couple hours I will be home to her.
‘I’m about to facetime the little one now to see how she is.’
Mark also joked about the lack of sleep as he teased: ‘I am absolutely all over the shop I’m not gonna lie. It feels like evening, it feels like breakfast but one things for sure I feel good I feel happy.’
Joking with Olly he added: ‘You’re 10 months in, I’m 10 days in so our eyes look slightly different.’

The Coronation Street star, 37, took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to post an image of balloons in front of a rainbow alongside the message: ‘Thank you everyone for your lovely messages’, alongside bow and bubble emojis
Following the birth announcement Mark and Michelle were flooded with messages of adoring support from friends and family members alike – and one person who is certainly ‘over the moon’ is Michelle’s mum Jackie, who is ‘besotted’ with her first grandchild.
A source told The Mirror: ‘Jackie is over the moon to be a grandma. Palma is her first grandchild and she is besotted, as are the whole family. She’s so proud of Michelle.’
Insiders reportedly told the publication she has been a ‘pillar of support’ and a frequent visitor since the baby’s birth.
It comes just after Michelle thanked her friends, family and fans for their support following the arrival of Palma.
The actress took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to post an image of balloons in front of a rainbow alongside the message: ‘Thank you everyone for your lovely messages’, with bow and bubble emojis.
She and Mark announced the news on Wednesday with a sweet snap showing their daughter’s head alongside their hands.
In the sweet black and white photo, the proud new parents held Palma’s tiny hand, with the newborn dressed in a crochet set.
It’s believed the couple chose the name Palma because of their strong links to Mallorca, their go-to holiday destination and the setting for their pregnancy reveal photoshoot.
Michelle married Mark in May 2015 and the couple live together in an Essex mansion they built from scratch.
Heart Radio host Mark, who rose to fame on ITVBe series TOWIE, is an uncle to footballer brother Josh’s two children as well as sister Jess’s son and had spoken at length over the years about wanting to become a father himself one day.
Mark’s mother Carol also shared a heartfelt tribute to her new granddaughter after her son’s wife gave birth to her first child.

She was among those who sent well wishes. Resharing a photo of the tot, she wrote: ‘We are in love with you beautiful baby girl thank you Michelle and Mark for this wonder gift. X.’
After announcing their baby news on Instagram, Mark and Michelle received hundreds of congratulatory messages from friends and family including from Rochelle Humes, Kelly Brook, Vicky Pattison, and best pal James ‘Arg’ Argent.
Arg wrote: ‘I love you and I’m so happy for you both, you’re going to be amazing parents. I can’t wait to be an uncle.’
Mark’s sister-in-law Hollie commented: ‘Josh and Dusty can not wait to meet their new cousin ❤️❤️.’
While Mark’s sister Natalya said: ‘So so happy for you both. The best news ever ✨.’
Rochelle and Marvin added: ‘Over the moon for you both ❤️’, ‘Amazing news guys..so happy for you both ❤️.’
Mark’s brother Josh posted: ‘Over the moon for you both and can’t wait for our boys to meet your little one ❤️.’
