Lauren Oakley has given a show of support for her former Strictly Come Dancing co-star Giovanni Pernice before they are set to reunite on the dance floor.
The professional dancer has previously appeared as Giovanni’s leading lady on his tour but this year, she’s sitting out but made sure she headed to watch ‘The Last Dance’ as an audience member instead.
Giovanni kicked off his mammoth tour last month in a return to the UK The dancer was towards the end of last year seen taking part in the Italian show, Ballando con le Stelle.
He signed up for the popular dance show after a decision was made not to invite him back to take part in the UK’s version, Strictly.
The decision for him not to return as a pro dancer in the hit dance show came after an investigation into his behaviour on the show was conducted before he was cleared of the most serious allegations.
The BBC apologised to Sherlock star Amanda Abbington as they upheld some of her complaints against her former dance partner during the 2023 series.
Giovanni went on to be crowned the winner of the Italian version of the BBC One dance contest and America’s Dancing with the Stars alongside Bianca following the show’s final back in December.
But he has since returned to the UK for his tour, The Last Dance, which he has previously said will be his last tour – for now.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday (February 23), Lauren shared a video of Giovanni on stage and said: “@giovannipernice loved watching you up there! Congratulations on a fabulous show.”
