Kelsey Parker has revealed how supportive her late husband Tom’s parents have been during her new pregnancy.

Kelsey was married to The Wanted star Tom Parker, who died in 2022 after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. The couple share two children, Aurelia and Bodhi, and Kelsey is currently pregnant with her first child with new partner Will Lindsay. Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on her show this morning, Kelsey revealed that Tom’s parents have been wonderfully supportive of both her new relationship and her pregnancy.

Kelsey revealed that Tom’s mother, Noreen, had a beautiful reaction to Kelsey’s pregnancy. “Noreen said as long as you’re happy, we’re happy, and she’s so excited to have a new grandchild.” She continued: “They’re up north, so it’s hard for us to see each other, but every Sunday we FaceTime or whenever anything happens. Aurelia recently won her school talent show, and straight away we went to FaceTime, the children have such a good relationship with their grandparents.”

She also revealed that while Aurelia is hoping the new baby, due in June, will be a girl, son Bodhi is hoping for a baby brother, and that both children are very excited. “It’s nice for them to have joy and happiness, because Bodhi was just 18 months old when Tom died,” she explained. “It’s been a life of sadness for him, so it’s a light at the end of our tunnel. I think it’s good for them to see me happy, not me being sad in bed, not being able to get up, devastated at the loss of their dad, I am now happy. Will has brought such an amazing energy into our lives as well, and he is great with them.”

Kelsey also compared her situation to Bridget Jones, in the new movie Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, where Bridget is a widow. “In the film, Bridget is scared to move on and go out and date, and it is hard to date,” she said. “So for me, I just felt like Will was sent to me because he is just perfect and he loves Tom and he loves to hear stories about Tom. He embraces Tom and our family, which is really good.”

The couple are looking forward to the arrival of their baby, and Kelsey said she was really excited, whereas her previous pregnancy with Bodhi was heartbreaking, as husband Tom received his brain tumour diagnosis when she was 35 weeks pregnant.

“I was in fight mode the whole time and I want to enjoy every moment of this,” she said. “I had the added stress of treatment, Tom having chemo, radiotherapy, dealing with the fact of this is what our life was going to look like. It was such a tough time, and I just want people to be happy for me.”
