Emmerdale viewers were gripped to their screens all week in the lead up to the explosive limo car crash, but many were disappointed with the unusual outcome.

Emmerdale fans have demanded a major change after watching the explosive outcome from the dramatic limo crash.

All week, ITV viewers have been gearing up for the dramatic car crash, with executives teasing the major stint online throughout the month. But it’s fair to say the big episode failed to deliver the drama, as viewers tuned in for the latest instalement on Friday (February 14).

As they returned to the village, fans were hoping to discover which character was trapped under the icy lake and banging under the surface from the tragic crashed which is doomed to take the life of one resident.

But instead, they were transported to the events leading up to the crash. After seeing the hand pressed against the ice, fans watched as the villagers prepared for a Valentine’s Day night out, including the arrival of the limos split between the “boys and girls.”

However, as the episode ended with the gripping scene of the limo nosediving into icy waters, fans took to social media with fury, as one complained: “What a load of rubbish,” as another added: “I wanted to see a proper crash.”

A third viewer fumed: “Who the f*** writes this s***? Are we meant to believe that 2 limos being driven in completely the opposite directions have suddenly crashed with each other? #emmerdale fire your scriptwriters.”

Another slammed the show and posted: “Oh what a s***** ending #Emmerdale.”

Despite this, others were left on the edge of their seats and looked forward to its incoming episode, including one who shared: “EEK at that cliffhanger! And we have to wait all weekend to find out what happened!” (sic)

It was also praised by a viewer who echoed: ” Oh my God my heart was in my mouth that was a brilliant stunt ending @emmerdale, can’t wait for Monday’s episode!!”

Just moments before the crash, tensions rose in the boys’ limo as Caleb Milligan (played by William Ash) confronted Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) over his one-night stand with his wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly).

Caleb had offered to drive the limo, hoping to be as far away from Cain as possible, but his anger rose while listening to the conversations of those in the back, as Sam Dingle (James Hooton) was wittering on about loyalty among the Dingle clan.

After Caleb questioned the “Dingle loyalty,” Sam and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) expressed that it’s about “having each other’s back,” to which Caleb replied: “So, betrayal between us Dingles is never acceptable, is it? Not under any circumstances?”

“Did you hear that, Cain?” he asked. “Ask him why he slept with my wife,” Caleb added while everyone looked at the sheepish mechanic in shock.

Although he tried to explain that it “meant nothing,” Caleb wasn’t having any of it, so he put his foot down and started driving erratically at a high speed, resulting in the crash.
