The husband of Fiona Phillips, Martin Frizell, has reflected on his wife’s Alzheimer’s struggles in a heartbreaking update.
Presenter Fiona, 64, was diagnosed with the degenerative brain disorder three years ago. At the time, she revealed how it had “ravaged” her family, after her parents battled the disease, before adding: “And now it has come for me.”
And on Sunday (March 30), Fiona’s husband Martin shared an emotional update, admitting it was “tough” celebrating Mother’s Day.

Fiona Phillips’ husband issues sad update
On Sunday (March 30) former This Morning boss Martin Frizell took to his Instagram to pay a heartbreaking tribute to his wife on Mother’s Day.
Martin uploaded a photo – taken four years ago – of Fiona, smiling and waving and the camera.
“If Mother’s Day is tough, you’re not alone,” he wrote in the caption.
Martin added: “Share the good times. This was Fiona four years ago just before symptoms started. It’s my favourite picture of a wonderful mum.”

He also shared a snap of her award (Credit: Instagram)
Fiona was awarded Mum Of The Year
Fiona is a mum to two sons, Nat and Mackenzie – both in their twenties.
Also, in a follow-up post, Martin uploaded a photo of specially engraved glass that Fiona received in 2007 for being “Mum of the Year”.
Martin penned: “This was more important in our house than any BAFTA, NTA, or RTS.”
Fiona’s new memoir
In February, it was announced that Fiona is writing a memoir amid her battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Titled Remember When, the book is being written with the help of husband Martin and her friend, journalist Allison Phillips.
The UK publishing company Pan Macmillan has bought the rights to the book. Remember When is expected to hit the shelves in July 2025.
The press release notes: “Written with Fiona’s trademark honesty, Remember Me is a compelling and moving memoir as well as a book offering an important insight into life with a disease that will impact many of us.”
