After a whirlwind romance, Kym Marsh has reportedly split from her boyfriend Samuel Thomas, who she dubbed her “soulmate” last August. But despite the heartbreak, a source tells OK! she isn’t letting it get her down as she looks forward to turning 50 next year. They said, “It’s been hard for Kym, but she’s feeling like she’s got herself back and is really throwing herself into work.”
The 48-year-old had separated from her third husband, army major Scott Ratcliff in 2023, before meeting. Sam while they were both starring in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical last year. Back in August, she gushed about her new love on Instagram, writing, “Met the most amazing man ever! Sometimes the most unexpected things happen at the most unexpected times. @samuelthomasuk I love you #beautiful #soulmate.”

However, she reportedly parted ways with 29-year-old Sam ahead of the Christmas period as they were struggling to make time for one another.
“Kym and Sam fell head over heels when they first met and couldn’t wait to tell the world. But once Kym’s role in 101 Dalmatians ended, it became harder to spend time together and some of the magic they had at the beginning just disappeared,” a source told The Sun last week.
Kym and Sam are both yet to speak about the split and still have pictures of one another on their respective Instagram accounts. However, they spent Christmas and New Year apart, and did not comment on each other’s recent social media posts.
While the romance may not have worked out, Kym’s stint as Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians received rave reviews, and she’s also been busy filming Waterloo Road, playing canteen worker Nicky Walters in the BBC school drama since its reboot in 2023.

Referring to her thriving career, Kym said earlier this month, “I love what I do and that I’ve been given so many opportunities to work in so many different areas of the entertainment industry. That doesn’t happen all the time. The day will come when I stop getting offered jobs, so for now I’m going to take them.”
And explaining that Kym’s newly single status has come at a great time for her to throw herself into work, the source claimed, “She’s so busy and has loads coming up this year. She’s done really well on Waterloo Road and is loving that, she’s feeling like she’s in a strong position to really focus on her career. “This journey of loving herself again has given her a real boost of confidence to get these new roles and get stuck in.”
Before meeting Sam, Kym was married to ex Scott for 19 months, separating in May 2023. Prior to that, the star has tied the knot twice. First to EastEnders actor Jack Ryder, who she wed in 2002 and divorced in 2009, and then to Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas, who she married in 2012 and divorced in 2014.

She is also mum to David, 29, and Emilie, 27, whose father is her ex-partner Dave Cunliffe. The actress also has three grandkids – Teddy, Clayton and Polly – and as she nears her 50th birthday next year, Kym is looking forward to spending quality time with her loved ones and enjoying all the next decade has to offer.
Our source said, “Kym is 50 next year and is feeling confident about it, she isn’t nervous and feels like this could really be her time to shine. Kym hasn’t been the luckiest in love and she knows that, but now it’s time to be focusing on her family and spending time with her grandkids, which she loves.
“She’s determined to make it a good year – Kym is back and she’s got a point to prove.”
