Ben Cohen has split from his Strictly Come Dancing co-star, Kristina Rihanoff, following his 13-year marriage to the mum of his twin daughters, Abby Cohen

Ben Cohen’s ex-wife has broken her silence following the rugby star’s split from Kristina Rihanoff.

Abby Cohen was married to Ben, 46, for 13 years before he met the Russian dancer, 47, on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. Ben left his wife, who he shares twin daughters with, and proposed to Kristina after the couple welcomed their daughter, now eight. However, they’ve now called it quits amid reports of financial strife in a case of the ‘Strictly curse in reverse’.

Abby is yet to comment on Ben’s split with Kristina, however she has taken to Instagram sharing a sun-soaked snap in which her ex’s problems look like they couldn’t be further from her mind. Enjoying an outing to the horse racing in Guilsborough with her pet pooch, Branston Pickle, the photographer shared a snap of her dog with her hand in shot, holding a glass of Pimm’s. She simply captioned the photo: “Sunday” as she made the most of the warm weather.

Abby, who shares 15-year-old twins Harriette and Isabelle with Ben, is now in a relationship with her partner David Warner and the couple often pose together for romantic social media snaps.

Suggesting Kristina and Ben’s split was “karma ” for the mum-of-two, a friend told the The Sun: “Ben left his wife Abby for Kristina, only to now split with her. It’s like the curse in reverse. This will be like karma for Abby, she was so upset when Ben left her. It’s like he has got his comeuppance.”

Ben broke his cover on Sunday following the news of his split from Kristina. After twelve years with the dancer, it has been widely reported that the pair have called it a day after facing money problems in recent years. On Saturday, Kristina looked deep in thought as she was seen for the first time since their break-up.

The sighting comes days after it was revealed Kristina and Ben had split after their companies racked up debts of £1million. A few months before they parted ways, the pair appeared in court where they said they were so much in debt they are “fighting not to lose their relationship and their home”. They were in court after Kristina was caught driving her Audi Q3 without insurance, where she was slapped with a hefty six points on her licence.
