The BBC has announced the release date for their adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero, unveiling a trailer that is sure to thrill fans of murder mysteries.
Set in 1936, the plot revolves around tennis star Nevile Strange (played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen), who finds himself embroiled in a scandalous celebrity divorce. He invites his former wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland) and new spouse Kay (Mimi Keene) to spend the summer at Gull’s Point, his childhood home and the estate of his bedridden, yet formidable aunt Lady Tressilian (Anjelica Huston).
This unusual setup inevitably leads to tensions, which are further exacerbated by the arrival of a resentful exiled cousin, an elderly lawyer, and a French conman. Amidst the romantic turmoil, a murder occurs on the estate, with only a troubled detective able to solve the case and prevent another death.
Filmed in Bristol and along the Devon coast, the adaptation beautifully captures the opulence of the 1930s, complete with a breathtaking setting and period styling.
