Bradley Walsh shared that someone helps out behind the scenes on ITV’s The Chase to help and control the ‘banter’.

ITV host Bradley Walsh has opened up on the “banter” between him and his co-stars of The Chase. The presenter and the quizzers often “wind each other up” with quips about their looks and personalities.

But now the star has admitted that there is actually someone else behind all of the personal jokes. He told the Mirror: “They sort of have pops at me, but a bit of self-deprecating humour never hurt anybody.” He then revealed that the Chasers get a little help backstage to go toe-to-toe with him.

He said: “We’ve got a writer called Adam Bostock Smith. He writes their gags to have a go at me. Some of them are really funny, it actually makes me laugh.

“We know it’s just banter there’s no point in getting yourself wound up like some presenters I know who are just so precious, it’s frightening!”

Brad continued: “The one I have most fun with is Shaun, the Dark Destroyer. It’s because we both love our football. We’re exactly the same age well, he’s two days older than me.I just adore him.”

The ITV host recently revealed that he turned down a huge role in a Hollywood movie. The 64-year-old star, who has also acted in the past with roles in Coronation Street and Doctor Who, shared that he had to turn a role in the 007 film Quantum of Solace down.

It came as he shared his favourite Bond star, saying: “Daniel Craig, mate. Daniel Craig all day long. Brilliant.”

Mark Labbett then asked him: “Is it true you were considered to be his body double?” Brad explained as he said: “Yes. I was actually asked to be in Quantum of Solace.”

Gesturing to his chin, he added: “But they wanted me to not shave for three or four weeks, to let it grow… Because I was going to play his armpit!”

Bradley is a self-confessed Bond megafan, and even has a snazzy car similar to one owned by the 007 spy. He owns a custom made six litre Aston Martin Vantare stripped back DB12, which has been put back together with a new body. It has been compared to the No Time To Die DB12.
