Prince Harry has taken a subtle swipe at Donald Trump just hours after the US President tore into his wife Meghan Markle.

On Saturday, Mr Trump ruled out deporting the Duke of Sussex from the US after the prince had admitted in his memoir about past drug use, claiming Harry has “enough problems with his wife” Meghan, whom he said was “terrible”.

But speaking to a crowd of 40,000 at the BC Stadium in Vancouver, Canada, at the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games, the Duke criticised the “weak moral character in the world”.

He said: “At this moment, when there is no shortage of crises, no absence of uncertainty, no lack of weak moral character in the world, the values you embody, the way you carry yourselves – not only at the Invictus Games, but each and every day – your courage, your resilience, your humanity, illuminate a path forward for us all.”

The singer was among the musical stars who helped launch the seventh edition of the Games on Saturday with a motivational performance at the BC Place in Vancouver.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose an unusual form of transport at the Invictus Games opening ceremony as they rode along on the back of a golf buggy beside groups of competitors chanting.

Meghan has been posting on her Instagram stories since the start of the Invictus Games and since they landed in Vancouver, and one video shows the couple clapping as they wave and say hello to groups of competitors from different nations.

As the camera follows the couple holding on to the back of a golf buggy, competitors can be heard chanting “Harry, Harry!” as the royal pair zoom past like rockstars.

To celebrate her son’s fourth birthday, Princess Eugenie has posted a heartfelt tribute to August on her Instagram page in the form of a video montage.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted enjoying an intimate double date with Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana in Vancouver.
