Prince Harry stepped away from life as a working royal five years ago and doesn’t seem to have looked back.

While he is still a royal himself and holds the title the Duke of Sussex, the prince, 40, no longer works for the Monarchy and has instead set up a new life in Montecito, California, with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3

Although the Duke of Sussex seems happy with this life change, the British public’s opinion seems to be less positive, with a new survey by market research firm Ipsos revealing 43% of the 1,091 respondents were unfavourable towards Harry.

The survey also showed that only 21% of thought King Charles’ youngest son is more a member of the Royal Family than a celebrity, while a majority of Britons no longer consider the prince to be a “royal”, as per The Telegraph.

It was also revealed that 40% of those surveyed said Harry, 40, was more of a celebrity than a royal, with a fifth of those polled (20%) believing he was both a royal and a celeb.

Last year, Harry said he was “grateful” for his life in America, showing no signs of any desire to return to the UK anytime soon.

While Harry still displays some of his royal traits through ongoing charity work he does, there is no doubt that he has definitely branched away from royal life.

As well as living a more private life, the prince and Meghan have also undertaken commercial deals since quitting royal duty, having worked with Spotify and Netflix before.

This saw the couple appear on their very own Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, which was released in 2022.

Harry has also previously signed a book deal since quitting life in the Firm, with his memoir Spare being released in January 2023.

Within the pages, the book was Harry’s own opinions and views of his royal life, which included some less than favourable representations of a number of family members including his father King Charles, 76, and his brother Prince William, 42.

It is believed the memoir strained some of Harry’s relationships with his royal relatives, with the duke having reportedly not been on speaking terms with his older brother since.
