The Clarkson’s Farm star delivered his verdict on the growing tensions between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky after talks broke down

Keir Starmer says it’s an ‘honour’ to be Labour leader

Jeremy Clarkson issued a warning to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer as he weighed in on the aftermath of an unprecedented clash in the White House between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, along with Vice President JD Vance.

The fiery Oval Office clash turned into a shouting match as the Ukranian leader was in Washington DC to sign a minerals agreement that would have provided further US military support in return for access to Ukraine’s natural resources.

In Jeremy’s latest column for The Times the former Top Gear presenter urged Sir Keir to “stand up” to Trump and JD Vance, the US vice-president.

He wrote, “But then came that White House meeting when poor little Volodymyr Zelensky was hauled in front of the world’s press and openly bullied in what, let’s face it, is his third language.

“Soon the whole gang was at it, demanding to know why he hadn’t sent the people of America a thank-you letter and why he wasn’t wearing a suit.”

Jeremy said since the awkward meeting between Trump, Vance and Zelensky political matters have worsened.

The Clarkson’s Farm star took aim at Vance, who he branded a “t**t”, adding he has “no clue about history”, after the US vice president appeared to dismiss Britain’s armed forces contributions to wars in the last 30 to 40 years – comments Vance denied he made.

The columnist, 64, has now issued a warning to Sir Keir as he suggested the US have switched allegiance from Ukraine to Russia in a huge blow to Zelensky, as he urged, “But soon we are going to need someone who will make stand”.

He added we need “an integrated United States of Europe” to stand up to the “potential lunacy in Russia, China and America”.

However he fears it’s just a “pipe dream”.

“You’ve got Sir Keir Starmer fawning all over Trump, Nigel Farage parroting the White House line that Zelensky might not be the hero we once thought, and Kemi Badenoch saying that she knows Vance and he didn’t say what he said. Except he did. We all heard him,” Jeremy added.

The UK and France have said they would be willing to put troops on the ground in Ukraine as part of a supporting peace deal.

Zelensky has since said he plans to meet with the US again for further discussions amid the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
