Nitya Rajan discusses Pope’s health on Good Morning Britain
Good Morning Britain issued an update live from the Vatican on Thursday for a breaking update about Pope Francis health.
Correspondent Nitya Rajan is in Vatican City and spoke to host Ranvir Singh who was in the studio.
The 88-year-old is currently being treated for pneumonia after being admitted to hospital on February 14.
Nitya explained the Vatican has released an update on the health of Pope Francis saying, “There is a slight improvement in the Pope’s condition.”
She continued: “They haven’t used the word critical which they have been using all week.

“They said the Pope had a chest CT scan on Tuesday which they’re describing as a normal evolution of the pneumonia that he has been treated for. He is still getting high oxygen flow therapy which he has been getting all week.”
“The tests that he’s been getting yesterday confirm a slight improvement,” Nitya added.
Despite the positive health update the Vatican has stated prayers are still needed for Pope Francis.
The GMB correspondent shared: “The prognosis for the pope remains reserved and therefore prayers here and at St Peter’s Square and definitely around Rome and the local universities have been carrying on through the night.

“There has been a shrine that has been built outside Gemelli Hospital. People here the faithful that come to the eternal city for their pilgrimage this year are holding onto the belief that prayers can move mountains.”
Pope Francis was initally admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on February 14 after experiencing breathing difficulties for several days.
Although initially treated for bronchitis, he was later diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.
On Sunday, he asked Catholics worldwide to pray for him, saying in a message: “I am confidently continuing my hospitalisation at the Gemelli Hospital, carrying on with the necessary treatment; and rest is also part of the therapy!”
