Bradley Walsh announced a new venture away from his hosting duties on The Chase with a new show airing on Sky History.

Bradley Walsh, the beloved host of The Chase, is off on an epic adventure to Egypt, fuelled by a burning desire to unravel the secrets of the Pyramids’ construction over 4,500 years ago.

While the ITV presenter, 64, has no plans to leave the quiz show the latest show odds have suggested the beloved presenter could leave his hosting duties and a list of possible replacements have been unveiled, including the star’s son Barney Walsh.

Walsh trades at 4/6 to depart the show amid increased uncertainty regarding his future in the past few weeks, according to betideas.com.

Bradley’s son, Barney, is among the favourites at 5/1 to replace him should he leave the programme, putting him only behind Stephen Mulhern (2/1) in the betting.

Roman Kemp (also 5/1) and Alexander Armstrong (8/1) are the other main contenders to assume the role. Others included Lee Mack (9/1), Ben Shephard (10/1) and Clara Amfo (10/1).

Lee Astley, spokesperson for betideas.com, said: “Bradley Walsh’s 16-year stint on The Chase could be coming to an end soon, with the presenter odds-on at 4/6 to leave the show anytime in 2025, and viewers seemingly fed up with his recent hosting duties.

“Should Walsh depart the programme, the most eye-catching name in the betting to replace him is his son Barney, who is 5/1 to step into his father’s shoes in the ITV series.

“Stephen Mulhern is the market favourite at 2/1 to become the show’s next presenter, with Roman Kemp (5/1) also in the running.”

Meanwhile, Bradley is set to front his own show.

The upcoming special, titled Bradley Walsh’s Egypt’s Cosmic Code, promises a thrilling three-part series where viewers will join Bradley as he unravels the enigmas of the Sphinx, ventures into Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor, and brings his distinctive wit and charm to the screen.

In a clip filled with anticipation, the presenter reveals his long-time fascination, saying in a teaser trailer: “I’ve had a fascination with Egypt and the pyramids for a very, very long time. It’s an anomaly, an absolute cornucopia of ideas and fantasies.”

Reflecting on the historical significance of Cleopatra VII’s demise, scenes of Egypt unfold as narrators hint that despite decades of research, much of that epoch still lurks in shadows.

Doubtful of the traditional accounts of the pyramid’s creation, Walsh presents his bold theories, stating: “It certainly wasn’t the ancient Egyptians, four and a half thousand years ago. I have different theories.”

The preview hints: “With his Indiana Jones hat, his unique brand of entertainment, and his camel-riding technique, it’s fair to say that Bradley is unlike anyone the Egyptians (ancient or modern) have encountered before.”
