Many viewers of the popular BBC series were unhappy on how the news will impact the show

In tonight’s (March 15) episode, hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh returned to our screens for the final round of the quarter-finals.

Those who tuned in witnessed contestants battling it out to secure their spot in the semi-finals, participating in various events including Unleash and intense rounds of Duel.

Nathan from Sunderland was pitted against Andy from Bournemouth, while Rachel, daughter of ex-boxer Frank Bruno from Essex, squared off against Keeva from Belfast.

But there was an unexpected twist when one Gladiator made a surprise appearance with a significant update.

Hosts Bradley and Barney introduced Giant, who hadn’t yet participated in any of the events, much to the surprise of some viewers. He revealed that he had unfortunately suffered an injury during his most recent appearance, having damaged his bicep while participating in Powerball.

Consequently, the Gladiator won’t be able to participate in the rest of the current series. This news disappointed viewers at home, who quickly took to social media to share their reactions, with many sending their best wishes, reports the Mirror.

However, quite a few were also pointing fingers.

Viewers were left heartbroken on X as the beloved Giant was ousted from the competition, with one fan lamenting: “Awwww. No more Giant. No more of them thighs.”

Speculation swirled about the absence of a Giant/Nathan rematch, with another chiming in: “Ah, that’s why there was no Giant/ Nathan rematch.”

The finger of blame pointed squarely at contestant Andy, who was vying for a semi-final spot and allegedly responsible for Giant’s injury.

This sentiment was echoed by another, insisting: “Giant deserves justice. Hopefully Andy won’t win tonight.”

With their tongue firmly in cheek, someone quipped: “I hope Giant’s come back just to grind Andy into a fine red paste.”

Gladiators continues on Saturday nights at 5:50pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
