Despite her flourishing presenting career, Sarah stepped back following her beloved partner’s passing and put her focus on running his aerial filming firm instead.
Returning to screens last year, Sarah told of how she has no plans to retire, adding her late husband would be ‘proud’ of her TV return.
Speaking to The Mirror about how she coped amid Mike’s death, she said: ‘Nine years ago my husband died and I had a very big task on my hands, because I made the decision to take on his business. It was a learning precipice. It took up a lot of my headspace.

‘Offers of TV came in but for a long time I was trying to learn this new business but also feeling too raw. Only time can help that, you know when you feel ready, when you have that energy.’
While she spent several years out of the spotlight, Sarah is embracing being back in the saddle as she hosts the show with Roman – of whom she told she was there the moment they met.
She also added that she felt Mike’s presence while filming the gameshow in Belfast where he grew up, remarking: ‘I had a few little taps on the shoulder from him.’
The Finish Line will air on BBC One on Mondays at 4.30pm from March 10.
