Jonathan Ross and his wife Jane have welcomed three children together after nearly 27 years of marriage. But he’s not the only famous face in their family.

Telly icon Jonathan Ross has been a beloved late-night host since the 1980s, but he isn’t the only famous face in his family. Launching into fame with ‘The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross’ in 1987 on Channel 4, he’s become a veteran of the screen with a string of successful shows under his belt. And now the Masked Singer star is gearing up to enthral viewers in the first-ever celebrity edition of The Traitors.

Apart from television glitz, Jonathan has made a splash in radio and advertising too, racking up a hefty fortune thought to be around £30million. Away from the limelight, he relishes life with his wife, talented screenwriter Jane Goldman. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony back in 1988 when she was just 18, marking nearly three decades together.

Brief split

With their brood of three—Betty Kitten, 33, Harvey Kirby, 31, and Honey Kinney, 28—the couple first crossed paths when he was 26 and she just 16, as Jane carved her path in showbiz journalism, reports the Mirror. Yet, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for these two; they’ve weathered some tumultuous storms too.

Back in 1999, Jane grappled with dark times battling depression, leading to a break in their marriage as she sought help at the Priory Clinic. Their public statement at the time acknowledged: “Jane, who suffers from depression, recently had a breakdown for which she checked into the Priory Clinic for treatment.”

The family stated: “As a result of this very stressful period a great deal of strain has been put on the marriage. Jane and Jonathan’s main concern at the moment is the happiness and security of their children.”

Rarely-seen son

While Harvey has managed to keep a low profile, he recently appeared on the set of Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his sister Honey and famous father. Despite his intention to keep private matters under wraps, it was accidentally revealed by his family on a podcast that he is due to be married soon.

On an episode of the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware, which featured Honey as a guest alongside her father, discussion turned to homelife and Harvey’s personal life.

Jonathan jokingly said: “Harvey has got the longest hair in the family, and largely unwashed. He doesn’t wash it often because he’s part of that gang who think you shouldn’t use soaps.”

His sister Honey let slip a celebratory note, revealing: “He did just get engaged!” Meanwhile, Jonathan hinted at future family plans, stating: “They’re thinking of starting a family next year.”

Betty’s health battle

In other family news, eldest daughter Betty has been bravely battling serious health issues, having been diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2021.

Jane and Jonathan’s eldest daughter, Betty, has faced significant health challenges, including chronic fatigue syndrome and postural tachycardia syndrome, a condition that causes her heart rate to spike when standing, often leaving her feeling dizzy. As a result, she now relies on an electric wheelchair to get around.

Jonathan has been open about his admiration for Betty’s resilience, telling the Express: “It’s been a tough couple of years for her [Betty] in particular, but she is getting slowly better.”

TV star daughter

In contrast, their youngest daughter, Honey, has carved out a career as a model and body positivity advocate. She also co-hosts a podcast with her father, discussing their favourite TV shows and films. However, she has spoken out about feeling uncomfortable with her family’s level of exposure on the show.

Honey has been candid about her own struggles with self-esteem and has used her platform to urge parents not to put their children on diets.

During an appearance on Loose Women, she shared her own experiences of being offered diets as a solution to her body image issues, saying: “They saw me, a teenage girl, coming home saying, ‘I hate my body’, They tried to give me solutions to a problem I brought to them, which was to lose weight.”

She warned parents against perpetuating diet culture, saying: “They presented me with diets and diets, as we know, don’t work and are absolutely toxic. My advice to parents is keep that as far away from your children as possible, if you want them to have a good relationship with food and their bodies growing up do not shame them.”

Famous relatives

In addition to his brood of pets and children, Jonathan’s sibling Paul also carved out a successful career in television, presenting Channel 4’s popular morning programme The Big Breakfast, among other TV appearances.

Another distinguished member of the family was his late mother Martha, who became a familiar face on EastEnders. His late mother worked as an extra on the BBC soap from its inception until 2006 when she was fired for leaking a storyline to her son Paul, who then shared it on his radio show.
