The Radford Family look to be planning another trip after enjoying a luxury £52,000 Florida getaway.

The Radford family, recognised as Britain’s largest family, has recently returned from an extravagant trip to Florida with an estimated cost of £52,000. Following this holiday, they are already in the process of planning their next luxurious getaway. Show matriarch Sue Radford shared a screenshot on social media displaying current flight prices to the Sunshine State, specifically to Orlando, which is a popular vacation destination for them. Typically, flight prices fluctuate based on the time of year and school holiday schedules. The shared image indicated that TUI flights from Gatwick are currently priced at £196 per person. Notably, during school holidays, these prices can increase significantly, often tripling, which can make international travel unaffordable for many families.

Sue suggested she understood why parents “take their children out of school” during term when she caught wind of the cheap flights when it’s not peak season. Taking a child out of school for a holiday during term time is generally not permitted and can result in fines for parents in the UK.

Sue typed: “Anyone looking at flights for Florida this month, these are crazy low, then they wonder why parents take kids out of school.”

From August 2024, the fine for school absences across the country will be £80 if paid within 21 days, or £160 if paid within 28 days. This rate is in line with inflation and is the first increase since 2012. In the case of repeated fines, if a parent receives a second fine for the same child within any three-year period, this will be charged at the higher rate of £160.

Fines per parent will be capped at two within any three-year period. Once this limit has been reached, other actions, like a parenting order or prosecution, will be considered.

Last year, the Radford family went on 18 holidays in just 12 months, and father-of-22 Noel Radford shared they plan to travel the globe plenty more this year.

Between them, they have a whopping 22 children and seven dogs, which often has some people wondering how they manage their money. The Radfords support themselves with the proceeds of Noel’s bakery, The Radford Pie Company, which is located near their home.

On their website, they say, “We have owned our own lovely bakery since 1999, which is how we manage to provide for (and feed) our huge and expanding family as well as for the local people of Heysham and Morecambe.” The family expanded their business to cater to online orders placed across the UK.

The Radford family also stars in their own reality TV show, 22 Kids and Counting, which has run for four series.

Brand expert Andy Barr believes Noel and Sue have been paid less than £10,000 for each show. He told the Daily Mail: “The typical fee per episode is going to be in the thousands rather than the tens or hundreds of thousands that people often think is the case with TV shows of this nature.

“If they continue to get commissioned for a fourth or fifth season, then they are going to be able to command a higher fee.”
