Weatherfield is about to face its most chaotic shake-up yet – but it may not last as long as fans hoped.

Coronation Street is preparing for a storm as two new characters, Lou and Mick Michaelis, played by Farrel Hegarty and Joe Layton, burst onto the scene in dramatic fashion. The newcomers are set to rattle the cobbles, but shocking news about their contracts has left fans stunned and speculating about what really happened behind the scenes.

Lou and Mick will move into Mawdsley Street – the soap’s newly expanded setting behind Gemma and Chesney’s house – bringing drama, secrets, and neighborhood chaos along with them. Despite the shock exit news, both actors have spoken warmly about their time on the show.

Farrel Hegarty, who plays Lou, shared:
