There’s an even nastier twist on the way, Claire King has revealed!

What just happened?! Kim Tate’s new fella Eddie in Emmerdale has been revealed as sinister kidney-thieving Dr Crowley!

It’s a big shock for viewers and an even bigger one for Joe Tate and his step-grandma Kim!

So how on earth has this all come about?

We were lucky enough to have a chat with soap icon Claire King, who plays Kim Tate, and she told us all about Kim’s new romance with too-good-to-be-true Eddie!

Too good to be true?

Claire started by telling us widow Kim wasn’t looking for love when Eddie came into her life.

“I don’t think she was particularly ready to move on – it’s only been six months but it just so happens she met this chap at York races,” Claire explains. “He’s not involved with horses, he tells her he’s a cosmetic surgeon. He’s very handsome, charming, charismatic, he won’t let her pay for anything…”

He sounds perfect! Kim’s a bit wary though, because it’s only six or so months since Will died. She’s taking things slow, according to Claire.

“They’ve met up for a coffee a few times, that’s as far as it’s gone, and she’s thinking actually this is really nice, but how’s Dawn going to take it. Does she feel she’s got to tell Dawn about it? Is it too soon for her. She’s doubting herself. But she’s enjoying his company, so she’s thinking maybe this could be a relationship in the future.”

So things were all looking good. Until this evening’s episode when it was revealed that Eddie is Dr Crowley.

A nasty twist when Crowley was exposed as Kim’s new man in Emmerdale

Kim brought her new bloke to Home Farm and introduced him to a shocked Joe!

“She brings him to Home Farm and of course Joe’s taken aback because he suddenly realises this Eddie isn’t Eddie at all,” Claire reminds us. “It all comes out in the wash and there’s a very nasty twist that’s coming…”

Nastier than what we’ve just seen? Blimey!

Claire, who loves playing evil Kim Tate, is delighted to have a new nemesis for her alter ego.

“It’s great because Joe’s got a bit wet now,” she laughs. “It’s great to have someone else in there, but Joe’s had a lot of hassle with Crowley himself, so Crowley’s actually blackmailing Joe, using Dawn and the kids and his real intention is to get his hands on Kim’s money.”

But we know Kim Tate and we know she won’t give up without a fight. Could she turn the tables on Crowley?

“Of course, it’s Kim Tate isn’t it?” Claire reassures us. “The minute Kim finds out, it’ll be more than his back Dr Crowley needs to watch out for. I mean that!”

Is Kim suspicious of Crowley in Emmerdale?

So when will Kim find out what’s going on? We’ve seen Joe be sullen and rude with Crowley but has that given any reason for Kim to be suspicious?

“She just thinks it’s off of Joe and he’s just on one of his miserable days, so she does brush it off at the time and apologises to Eddie,” says Claire. “But she is suspicious and she does ask him later on. She’s got to get to the root of it and that’s where the conversation with Joe starts…”

So what is Crowley up to? Not surprisingly, it’s all about Kim’s money.

“He’s very bad and very nasty and he will go to any lengths to get her money and he kind of does,” says Claire. But she adds: “There’s always a twist!”
