Sam Thompson has announced a huge career update on Monday after his ex Zara McDermott confirmed her romance with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson over the weekend.

The I’m A Celebrity star is set to wake up the UK with a new live radio breakfast show on Hits Radio on Saturday mornings.

Sam, who already hosts an evening radio show, said he is thrilled by the new gig as he is ‘such a morning person’ and the exciting new show was ‘too good to miss’.

The Staying Relevant podcaster will be interviewing a number of A-list celebrities and will be giving the low down on what he has been up to that week alongside playing a number of the biggest pop tracks and throwback songs.

Sam said: ‘Come on! It’s Saturday mornings baby. I have loved my evenings with my Hits Radio fam but I am such a morning person that the chance to spend the start of the weekend with listeners was too good to miss. See you all Saturday.’

In the upcoming show, which will start this Saturday, Sam will be hanging out with singer and rapper Craig David and giving away Beyoncé concert tickets.

The announcement comes days after Sam’s Love Island star ex Zara revealed her new relationship with singer Louis. 

The reality star, 28, and the One Direction star, 33, first sparked romance rumours in March when a fellow diner at The Suffolk in Aldeburgh took snaps of the couple enjoying a romantic date.

And after a discreet snap confirming that the pair had travelled to the States together, Louis and Zara recently shared a glimpse into their romance as they both took to their social media while watching Stereophonics at The Wiltern theatre in LA.

The new couple both shared videos from the same area in the theatre just minutes apart, with Zara tagging the venue and band.

Earlier in the day, the documentary maker revealed she was in LA as she snapped a picture of the famous Crumbl cookies as she picked up the special Kardashian, Jenner special addition box.

She later shared a snap having brunch with Louis’ tattooed hand in the shot clearly indicating he was sat across from her.

The social media ‘soft launch’ comes after Zara split from I’m A Celebrity winner ex Sam earlier this year after five years of dating.

Zara’s trip to the States comes days after she shared sizzling beach snaps during a lavish Dubai holiday with her family.

It comes after friends of Zara told MailOnline she’s relieved the relationship is now out in the open after dating in secret weeks.

Zara has already got the seal of approval from Louis’ twin sisters Phoebe and Daisy, plus influencer sister Lottie, who all follow the documentary-maker on Instagram, and she’s excited about what the future holds for the pair.

Her relationship with the famous singer was first detected by sleuth-like One Direction fans who noticed Louis had followed Zara on Instagram and liked a string of her pictures.

But it was not confirmed until pictures emerged in March, of the pair enjoying a romantic date together at The Suffolk in Aldburgh.

According to Zara’s friends, Louis has put ‘a smile back on her face’ following her split from Sam on New Year’s Day.

It comes after MailOnline recently revealed that her ex Sam has ‘grown close’ to a stunning Netflix star as he bids to move on from their relationship.
