Dianne Buswell has been flooded with messages of love and support from her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars and fans as she shared how she’d suffered a heartbreaking loss while visiting home in Australia.

The professional dancer documented her trip back to her home country last month having spent a short but beautiful break in South Africa with her boyfriend Joe Sugg for their friends’ wedding.

Dianne was seen starting in Perth before heading to Brisbane to be with her brother and her niece and nephew before she since been seen lapping up the quality time with all her family, including her parents Mark and Rina, who Strictly fans came to adore during their time in the UK last year when their daughter lifted the Strictly Glitterball trophy with comedian Chris McCausland.

Now, the 37-year-old has shared how her time in Australia has been bittersweet as she said a final goodbye to her grandmother. Taking to Instagram on Saturday (March 8), Dianne shared a video of herself and her Nan.

Alongside the sweet clip, she told her online following: “Rest in peace nan. Love you very much. I’m so grateful I was home to say goodbye to such a special lady in my life. Now go be with pop he has been patiently waiting for you.”

She also took to her Instagram Story with the video and said: “RIP our beautiful Nan,” before sharing a glimpse at the last moments they spent together as well as precious family-wide photos.

Dianne also shared a picture of her Nan’s TV which showed her, Joe and the Strictly YouTube channels as the ‘top watched’. Alongside the post, the Strictly star wrote: “At Nan’s house these were her top channels [face holding back tears and red heart emoji]. Good choices, Nan.”

Following her main grid post, Dianne’s Strictly co-stars Vito Coppola, Nancy Xu and former winner Stacey Dooley were all quick to respond with heart emojis.

Jowita Przystal replied: “Sending all my love Dianne.” Dancer Jake Leigh echoed: “So so sorry for your loss angel! Sending you so much love.” Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman shared: “Sending so much love.” Strictly 2024 finalist Tasha Ghouri typed: “Sending so much love to you.”
