Dianne Buswell has emotionally shared the ‘honour’ she had of becoming her nephew’s godmother after her family were hit with the heartbreaking loss of her grandmother.
Over the weekend, the Strictly Come Dancing shared how her recent return home to Australia has been bittersweet as she said a final goodbye to her grandmother. Taking to Instagram on Saturday (March 8), Dianne shared a video of herself and her Nan.
Alongside the sweet clip, she told her online following: “Rest in peace nan. Love you very much. I’m so grateful I was home to say goodbye to such a special lady in my life. Now go be with pop he has been patiently waiting for you.”
She also took to her Instagram Story with the video and said: “RIP our beautiful Nan,” before sharing a glimpse at the last moments they spent together as well as precious family-wide photos.
Dianne also shared a picture of her Nan’s TV which showed her, Joe and the Strictly YouTube channels as the ‘top watched’. Alongside the post, the Strictly star wrote: “At Nan’s house these were her top channels [face holding back tears and red heart emoji]. Good choices, Nan.”
But despite their heartbreak over the loss, the family also had a celebration as it was her nephew Roman’s Baptism, with Dianne being chosen as one of his godparents.
Sharing an adorable video of the pair on her Instagram Story, the professional dancer said: “I’m so honoured to be your godmother. Special christening day for our baby Roman.”
She has since shared more photos to her main Instagram grid of herself with her loved ones from the special occasion, as well as other snaps from her return Down Under and shared a caption for each photo.
Alongside the first with her siblings, Dianne gushed: “Me and my amazing brothers honestly I’m so lucky they have always been the coolest big brothers @buzzballz1 @thebuswells.” And as she was again seen with Roman, she shared: “So special to be this one’s godmother.”
She was also seen with her brothers’ other children and said: “My nephews. They have my heart,” before being seen with her Grandfather. “As if my pop is 99 this year,” Dianne admitted.
And fans were quick to respond. @buswellsdaisy said: “Such a gorgeous family!! obsessed with all your outfits, they’re all so cute.” @fabiak19 commented: “Lovely photos, you have the most beautiful family.”
