Chris McCausland has recalled how he ‘sobbed all week’ at one point during his Strictly Come Dancing journey as Dianne Buswell shared a previously unseen video from their time on the show.
Fans of the BBC One dance contest will recall the emotional scenes as the comedian and the professional dancer were crowned winners of the 2024 series back in December.
There were tears aplenty when they lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy, with their win also making history as Chris was Strictly’s first-ever blind contestant.
Unlike some of the other couples, their dancing journey came to an abrupt end and the emotional pair went their separate way and while Dianne joined her co-stars on the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour, Chris headed back to his stand-up tour, Yonks!, which he started before signing up to the hit dance show.
But this week, for the first time since the Strictly final, the champs had an in-person reunion, having had plenty of virtual ones thanks to hosting their new podcast, Winning Isn’t Everything, which was their team name during their dancing journey.
Dianne revealed that she and her boyfriend Joe Sugg headed to see the comedian in his usual habitat as he took to the stage as part of his on-going stand-up tour, Yonks!
Sharing a video of her and Joe’s trip to see Chris, and the in-person reunion fans had been waiting for, Dianne shared on Instagram: “Joe, me and the glitter ball went on a little road trip to visit the one and only Chris McCausland on tour (yonks).
“It was the first time we had seen each other since the final. We got to see him do his thing on stage not only was his posture 10/10 but it was genuinely the funniest thing I had ever seen. It was sooooo good to see ya partner #winningisnteverything.”

Dianne has since returned to Instagram with a video of the pair as they recalled one of their emotional Strictly dances which has seen them nominated for the Bafta P&O Cruises Memorable Moment award.
The pair, who are the second-ever to be nominated following Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, are nominated for their performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone, which saw Dianne leave the ballroom floor so her partner could dance on his own before she returned to spinning in his arms moments later in tear-jerking scenes.
In the new video, Dianne is heard saying: “Chris, did you know this is the final week to vote for us for the Bafta? I watched it again today and it made me cry!” Chris remarked: “People arent voting for the moment, though. I know they say it’s a moment but it represents the whole thing doesn’t it?”
Dianne replied: “It did represent a lot but it was beautiful. At the end you were really sobbing. You can hear it quite loudly.” Chris shared: “I was sobbing all week. I’m surprised there was anything left, I was dehydrated!”

Dianne then recalled: “At the end you even go, ‘[with voice wobbling] thank you!’” to which they both burst out laughing. Chris then quipped: “Well apologies for expressing any level of emotion.”
She captioned the clip: “Chris is so right, the dance was a beautiful momentbut it represented so much more.”
Dianne also shared a previously unseen video from their last week on Strictly where they had to film clips for the live finale with the Glitterball trophy. Adding ‘You’ll Neve Walk Alone’ as the soundtrack, Dianne wrote: “It’s officially the last day of voting for Chris and I to receive the Bafta.”
