Chris McCausland was left stopping Dianne Buswell in her tracks as they were heard talking on a new episode of their podcast following their Strictly Come Dancing success.
As fans of the hit show know, the comedian and the professional dancer were paired together for the 2024 run of the BBC One dance contest and were later crowned the series champions.
The pair made history on the hit dance show by lifting the Glitterball trophy at the end of the BBC One dance contest’s latest series back in December.
They beat off stiff competition from their fellow 2024 finalists, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley, to be crowned the champions of Strictly’s 20th-anniversary series.
While their dancing journey quickly came to an end, with Chris unable to commit to the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour alongside Dianne at the start of the year, the duo haven’t kept too far apart as they launched their own podcast, titled Winning Isn’t Everything.
In a clip from their recent episode, Dianne and Chris could be heard talking about having to change-up their recording scheduled as they chatted to one another in the evening.
As Dianne said they’ve both been busy, Chris commented: “We’ve both been out, we’ve had lives to live.,,,” As Dianne added: “We’ve actually done stuff in our day…”
But it ‘s then when the dancer admitted to not being a night person, which got the pair into a discussion about having to go out in the evenings and questioning whether all shows should be matinees as standard with the odd night time performance thrown in if there’s demand.

Dianne said: “I’m not a night person, Chris, This is where I flake. I’ve never understood why people want to go to a show at night.
“I’m like, ‘Wouldn’t you rather just go to a day show?
“Just get it over and done with, get back home, have a lovely dinner and then go to bed?’”
Chris admitted he had been having the conversation with those attending the afternoon shows of his stand-up tour, YONKS!, before he eventually realised what they were talking about and said: “Let’s not go that far, Di. It is my livelihood.”
Captioning the clip on Instagram, Dianne laughed as she pointed out she will soon be hitting the road with Strictly co-star Vito Coppola with their ‘Red Hot and Ready tour’ and said: “Kinda forgot I’m about to go on tour I take it all back!
“I love late nights I dance my best in the evening I promise. @winningisnteverythingpod a new ep has dropped today it’s a funny one. Are you a morning or a night person?”
