“I’ll be undergoing surgery soon and will need time afterwards to fully recover,” he added. Milton explained that some summer dates of the tour will be rescheduled to later this year, and that all of the scheduled Autumn dates have not been affected.
He went on: “In addition, the summer dates in Colchester, Bridlington, Stroud, and London will be rescheduled to the Autumn. Thanks for your support and respecting my privacy during this time.
“This decision has not been taken lightly, trust me, abnormal service will resume as soon as possible and I’m looking forward to being back out on the road again soon – though probably not on a bike!”
It didn’t take long before his famous friends and loyal legion of fans flooded to the comments to pass on their well wishes online. Olympian Sir Chris Hoy – who was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in 2023 – wrote: “Really sorry to hear it mate, best of luck [heart emoji].”
Fellow comedian Al Murray added: “All the best Milton for a speedy recovery” as one fan penned: “Health before humour Milton [praise emoji] wishing you a speedy recovery sir”.
Another agreed: “Best of luck Milton. Get yourself well and you’ll be back on the road soon enough” as a third chimed in with: “All the very best for your surgery and subsequent recovery.”
