Britain’s Got Talent star and Heart Radio presenter Amanda Holden has opened up about injecting new life into her marriage with hubby Chris Hughes.
The 54 year old revealed that despite leading “separate lives” due to their hectic work schedules, her other half proposed they spend more quality time together.
In a surprising move, he enrolled them in Badminton, and the couple had their inaugural match on Wednesday.
Before facing off on the court, Amanda sought advice from a Badminton coach named Leon during a live segment on Heart Radio.
Leon’s tips included wearing the right footwear, serving underarm, and playing the shuttlecock near the net to keep her athletic husband on his toes, reports Bristol Live.

On Thursday’s Heart Fm broadcast, Amanda gushed that their unconventional date night was “so good” and they planned to hit the court again.
“We just got into the swing of it and we absolutely loved it,” she shared.
“We played for a good solid hour, we just knocked about a bit, we just played about. He won 21-15 but I thought that wasn’t bad for me.”
Amanda also confessed she took Jamie Theakston’s advice to play short, a tactic she sneakily withheld from her husband.
She concluded by saying she had invested in some proper shoes for their next Badminton game after realising she’d worn an unsuitable pair previously.
Opening up about her latest endeavour, she added: “This is the start of a beautiful… yes… we’ve just got to find the time each week, as obviously that is where we struggle.
“Honestly, we had such a laugh and then all night we were saying how much we loved it.”
Amanda and her other half have been united in matrimony for over 20 years, having exchanged vows in 2008.
The couple are doting parents to two daughters, Lexie, aged 19, and Hollie, who is 12.
