This Morning viewers were left in tears on Friday (May 2) over what they branded an ‘inspiring’ Alison Hammond segment.
It was a busy morning on the ITV programme, with Alison and Dermot O’Leary joined by Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s Holly Johnson.
However, it was a heartwarming interview early on in the episode that captured the hearts of those watching at home.
After going on viral on TikTok through videos of her putting her makeup on, 103-year-old woman Joan Partridge appeared with her granddaughter Nicola to talk about her newfound fame.
“Thousands saw me. I can’t believe it… Every day when I get up I go down and have a wash. I put the clothes on and say ‘makeup where are you’ and slap it on.
“It does make you feel better… I thought it [TikTok] was a clock. I’ve got no tips to give,” she joked.
Asked about her nan going viral, Nicola said: “Nan has always put her makeup on, I’ve never seen her without it. She’s always glammed up.

“One day, lovely Sophie from Millcroft Care Home said she’d take a video and it went crazy. It just went crazy.
“I saw it on my Facebook page and thought ‘look at nan’. Next time I visited her, nan was saying ‘what’s going on, on that clock’.”
In one hilarious moment, Joan told Alison that she ‘didn’t want to read’ any ‘dirty comments’, proclaiming that there had to be ‘a few’.
Following this, Joan showed off her impressive makeup skills by adding a rose-coloured blusher to Alison’s cheeks.
“Oh, you look stunning, give me a bit then, come on,” Alison said.
With Alison asking the elderly woman to make her ‘look beautiful’, Joan kindly told her that she’s ‘already beautiful enough’.
This Morning viewers rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, following the segment to commend Joan for continuing to do what she loves.

This Morning panelist Gyles Brandreth, @GylesB1, commented: “Joan (in blue) is 103! She’s inspiring: the secret of longevity she says is to wake up and smile, say This is going to be a good day – and it will be. It was a privilege to meet her on @thismorning this morning.”
