‘It has hit me like a bus’
Alison Hammond has revealed why she’s been forced to pull out of hosting This Morning.
The TV favourite, 50, usually fronts the ITV show every Friday, alongside Dermot O’Leary. However, on Thursday (May 15) Cat Deeley told fans that Lisa Snowdon, 53, would be hosting the Friday episode instead with Dermot.
And now, Alison has shared with fans the health emergency that led to her pulling out of the show.

Alison Hammond reveals reason for This Morning absence
On Friday morning (May 16) Alison took to her Instagram Story and revealed that she is suffering from the “worst hayfever”.
It has hit me like a bus
Looking pretty poorly, she told her 1.7 million followers: “Good morning everybody, I’ve got a filter on this, as I look that rough.”
She added: “I’ve had the worst hayfever for the last, I’d say two to three days. I don’t know what’s hit me, but it has hit me like a bus.”
Alison continued: “So I’m just letting you know that I’m not going to be making This Morning today. But the lovely Lisa Snowdon is going to be stepping into my shoes looking after my lovely Dermot, listen, I’ll see you next week.”

Alison says she’s ‘so sorry’
Reassuring her fans, Alison said: “I’m fine, but I’ve got loads of drugs, I’ve got all the hayfever stuff!”
Sorry I am not there today.
The Brummie star then showed off the medication she is taking, including eye drops, Vitamin D tablets and a nose spray.
“I am fine, I’ll see you next week! Love you lots. Sorry I am not there today,” Alison said, before ending the video.

This Morning host shares concerns for Alison
Later on, at the start of Friday’s episode (May 16) of This Morning, Dermot and Lisa Snowdon sent their well wishes to Alison.
“So Alison is a little bit poorly today,” Dermot told the viewers.
He added: “She says it’s hayfever but I think it’s more than that, I think she’s got a bad flu.”
Lisa chimed in as well and shared her concerns: “She sounded terrible and she doesn’t look her freshest either, so she needs to rest.”
Dermot then said: “Feel better soon Al!”
