TV star Ranvir Singh revealed she was rushed to the hospital last week for “urgent” surgery before being forced to pull out of work.
The 47-year-old presenter, who hosts various shows from Lorraine to Good Morning Britain, took to social media to issue a health update.

In an Instagram post shared two hours ago (May 12), Ranvir shared a photo of her in the white linen suit she wore during Lorraine last Wednesday. In the following slides, she shared a series of snaps of her in hospital.
“Had a fab time as always hosting @lorraine last Wednesday wearing this gorgeous linen white pinstripe suit, felt a bit drained and foggy in the morning but nothing a couple of coffees couldn’t sort out,” she wrote.
While off air, Ranvir said she felt “all good”. However, soon after, she revealed she suffered from a “sudden stomach ache”, which left her in bed “all day”.
At midnight on Thursday, she was forced to have “urgent surgery” after she was told she had “a ruptured appendix”.
“Woke up 5am on Friday morning, high on anaesthetic and certain I could get into work to host the show as normal,” she continued, adding the crying with laughter emoji.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. During Friday’s Lorraine, Andi Peters stepped in as host after Ranvir endured a “pretty nasty few days”.
She explained: “The bacteria had spread and infected my blood etc and told to take this week off by @jadeens. I’m sore and shuffling around, can’t drive for a week, and no exercise for 4 weeks (!) so really it’s the boredom that will kill me! Ps. Anyone else have this horrendous shoulder pain afterwards? It’s mad isn’t it!”
‘How scary’
Following the news, Ranvir’s followers rushed to the comments section to react.
“Sending love pal xx,” The One Show star Clara Amfo wrote.
“We missed you! Get well soon,” another person shared.
“How scary Ranvir, wishing you a speedy recovery. Sending love,” a third remarked.
“Wishing you a swift and full recovery,” a fourth said.
