Dancing on Ice viewers were left unimpressed as they commented onto the number of sexual innuendos throughout the show.

Some took to social media to comment on how the cheeky jokes were inappropriate after  ITV has decided to cut ties with Gino D’Acampo.

Gino is facing allegations of “sexual misconduct” from dozens of individuals over a span of 12 years. He has categorically denied all of the claims, calling them “deeply upsetting”.

As contestant Chris Taylor prepared to perform his ice skating routine to “Golden Hour”, Stephen joked that he’d misheard it as “golden shower” which is an X-rated sex act.

As Holly gasped at his joke, the camera cut away to see Love Island star Chris rehearsing before taking to the ice. Stephen also made jokes about “buttered muffins” and “getting his pompoms out”.

Unimpressed fans rushed to social media to comment on the “inappropriate joke”, as one said: “With @ITV being in the midst of the Gino scandal, you’d think they’d be a bit more careful about golden shower jokes on a family show #dancingonice.”

Another added: “So we are cancelling Gino but not Mulhern for his comments? Bit cold to get his Pom poms out? Make it make sense.”

A third chimed in: “Stephen just tried to allude that the dance was about a “ golden shower” it was a joke…. How many did he offend at 18:30 on a Sunday night?”

A fourth raged: “The saying is…. The Show Must Go On! In the case of #DancingOnIce it should be ….The Show Must Go! Waste of money & time. I’ve given it a shot for a couple of weeks but it’s old hat! Predictable in places, judges contradictory. Holly cringey! Switching off!”

Chris Taylor’s partner Vanessa Bauer was forced to pull out of the competition after tearing ligaments in her leg during rehearsals.

The ITV star has now been Robin Johnstone for his latest ice routine, and the pair suffered a huge fall during their first performance on Feb 2.

They managed to quickly recover and complete the routine.

Dancing on Ice airs Sundays at 6.25pm on ITV1.
