Dave and Shirley, the beloved Welsh pair from Caerphilly who have become household names on Gogglebox, have quelled fans’ worries about their potential absence from the Channel 4 programme.
The couple, cherished fixtures of the show since 2015, reassured their followers with a selfie on social media, confirming they’ll be back to delight viewers later in the year.
Following the season’s final episode last week, Gogglebox enthusiasts were treated to a ‘best-of’ compilation last night, May 30, capping off yet another successful series run.
On Instagram, Dave and Shirley raised a glass to the end of the season, sharing an endearing photo of themselves ready to enjoy a tipple.
“Cheers everyone! You’ve been a pleasure,” they expressed to their 203,000 followers, as reported by Wales Online.

Another chimed in: “Gonna miss yous! But have a great break well deserved!” While a third commented: “Our favourite duo on Gogglebox, love you pair and so funny when Dave looks at you dying to laugh at what you’ve just said. Keep being you xx.”
One more fan lamented: “That’s gone so quick, I’m actually gutted i hate this time of year. Can’t wait to see you again in September. Welsh legends.”

However, the post inadvertently sparked some anxiety among a handful of viewers, concerned that it signalled the duo’s departure from the show.
One fan lamented: “Awwww no. I hope you guys come back. You’re both hilarious.” While another anxiously pleaded: “Please please do not say this means you guys are leaving Gogglebox!!! Devastated if it is!!!”
Fortunately, the couple quickly alleviated concerns, clarifying in the comments: “No we are back in September xx.”
One relieved fan responded with: “Thank goodness!” While another expressed their delight, writing: “Phew ! ! ! Delighted to hear. I love watching you both on Gogglebox, your facial expressions are priceless.”
Though an exact September return date for the series is yet to be confirmed, fans can revisit this season of Gogglebox or watch any missed episodes on Channel 4’s on-demand platform.
