Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox-Miligan actress Beth Cordingly has been involved in a hard-hitting storyline as of late – but away from the ITV soap, she is in a romance with a fellow soap star

Emmerdale fans were left completely gobsmacked upon discovering the real-life love story of Ruby Fox-Miligan actress Beth Cordingly.
Beth graced the Emmerdale scene in 2024, causing a stir as Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) distant wife – and it didn’t take her long to ruffle some feathers. Recently though, Ruby’s been at the front and centre of a heartbreaking stoyrline.
In the past few months, Ruby has had a tumultuous ride in the Dales, grappling with an abusive father, Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), who shockingly turned out to be her daughter Steph’s (Georgia Jay) biological dad.
In a dramatic twist, after Anthony met a grisly end at Ruby’s hands, she found herself entangled in a homicide cover-up with the help of fellow villagers.

Cordingly, a seasoned TV vet with credits including Doctors, EastEnders, and Casualty, has found romance away from the camera with Emmerdale’s very own Ian Kelsey. Known each other for over twenty years, their love story blossomed in 2021 and Beth hasn’t shied away from sharing; she’s openly giddy, declaring herself “very happy” and “so in love” with Ian.
Soap aficionados will no doubt remember Ian for his memorable role as Dave Glover on Emmerdale until the character’s tragic exit in 1997, and more recently, for his stint on Coronation Street as Vinny Ashford between 2016 and 2017, reports Leicestershire Live.
Beth’s partner is an Emmerdale star too
The Emmerdale actress, Beth Cordingly, recently spilled the beans on her partnership with Ian Kelsey, opening up about how Ian’s been a rock as she tackled challenging scenes in the ITV favourite.
Chatting with the Mirror, Beth shared glowing words: “He’s worked with me on the script. Because we both really enjoy working on things together. To be in a relationship with someone who you can do this with, it’s really special. I’m very lucky.”
Beth has previously gushed about her beau
But while Beth and Ian’s off-screen romance might come as common knowledge to some avid viewers, others have just had their first glimpse of this endearing pair. A snapshot shared on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group left fans gushing and amazed – with one member posting: “Blooming eck just found out Beth Cordingly who plays Ruby, her partner is Ian Kelsey who played Dave Glover ….fancy that!”.
The post set the comments section alight with viewers expressing disbelief, one fan exclaimed: “How the hell I’ve missed it I don’t know.” And another voicing their surprise with: “Well I never knew that.”
